This is a charming 18th century courtyard of an old Court House in South London, converted into a house. It required the design to be in keeping with the historic nature of the building, as well as being a practical space for a family to enjoy.
The garden was cleared of unwanted shrubs, a new lawn laid, and a small brick paved circle built in the centre of the lawn using Stonemarket's terracotta 'Antique' bricks to match the house. Traditional box hedging surrounds mirror-image beds of lavender and dwarf white rose 'Little White Pet'. The sculptures were placed to continue with the symmetrical theme.
