Today it really felt that Spring is here! Feeling the warmth of the sun was such a treat, but with a freshness in the air reminding us that it is still mid February.
Work wise for me, although it is full speed ahead with moving shrubs around and planting hardy evergreens and trees, I am holding back where more tender shrubs like Pittosporums and Myrtle are concerned. Frost and snow can burn their leaves and damage delicate branches, so it’s best to wait until at least end of March for planting those. Certain perennials like salvias and lavender are going to wait until April – they hate a soggy wet winter! Let’s hope we are over the worst of the Winter weather this year and it’s downhill all the way to enjoying a gorgeous Spring.
