garden makeover in
fetcham
Brief
The brief for this garden was to level out the lawn, make the garden more interesting wth new borders and a new wildlife pond and create a calming meditation corner.
Design and outcome
The lawn was re-laid and lots of new topsoil added to fill in the dips - including one rather large dip, possibly caused by a large tree being removed in the past.
An existing brick edged border was expanded and new planting beds created along the other boundaries to create interest. Grasses Stipa gigantea and Calamagrostis stand out against the hedges.
The wildlife pond was re-instated with a small fountain. Geranium 'Rozanne', Hydrangea 'Limelight' and woodland planting surrounds the pond.
The corner pergola was re-built with new decking and trellis around it for climbers Trachelospermum and honeysuckle and acts as a meditation corner.
The circular paving is Indian sandstone and the new path is Marshalls driveway setts.
'We have so many different places to sit now and I really enjoy tending to my new garden and also showing it off when visitors come!' Nancy and her landscapers worked as a great team'.
