Brief

To re-site the steps to the front door to make them safer and easier to use. Terrace the very steep beds and re-build the driveway and wall with a lych gate entrance.

Design and outcome

The borders were terraced with curved brick retaining walls, providing plenty of scope for planting which is easier to maintain.

The steps to the front door now have risers with building regulation heights, making them much safer to manage. The lych gate entrance was designed and built specially for the garden.

Marshalls tegula setts were chosen for the driveway and the steps are in Marshalls 'Coach house' range; a dark grey man made material resembling old Yorkstone.

The garden wall bordering the pavement has a curved design to fit in with the design and new fences and gates complete the successful make-over.
