granite sett driveway in
Chipstead

Brief

An extra parking space was required which led to a re-vamp of the whole of the front garden including the steps up to the front door, re-using the lovely existing Yorkstone.

My client's taste was for a natural look, in keeping with the local area.

Design and outcome

Re-claimed granite setts were chosen as the main material for the driveway, giving a suitably lived in rustic look. These particular setts were found at Horsham Stone Reclamation www.horshamstone.co.uk

The driveway was widened to accommodate 3 cars.

The walling needed to tie in with not only the granite setts but also the existing old Yorkstone flagstones and so my client herself sourced these old vintage bricks which came from an old school.

There was room for an enchanting garden building which is a log store. It is clad in a man made material from Fossil Stone www.fossil-stone.co.uk

The planting gives year round interest but looks particularly good in summer with the roses, penstemons and centranthus giving a classic romantic feel to this captivating front garden.

'We have had some lovely comments from our neighbours who admire our new front garden. It was a pleasure working with Nancy and her landscapers '
